James Walter Monteith

Obituary of James Walter Monteith
Jim Monteith was called to coach at a higher level on August 21, 2019 at St Lawrence Lodge in Brockville, surrounded by his family, he left with love in his heart and faith that God would guide him in his next journey. A sermon mentioned a few years back that a simple man, a common man, can change the world, and the people who met Jim Monteith can attest that he did just that. His faith in God and the ability to guide him through troubled times was unwavering. Anytime he spoke he taught about love, forgiveness and acceptance. He created a family, that through him and his wife Hazel, are empathic, compassionate and generous. His children Joanne, Linda (Jim) Deb (Ed), Rob (Laurie), his grandchildren Robert, Dawn, Ryan, Mike, Sara, Brad, Kristin, Chris, and his 14 great grandchildren will carry his incredible zest for life and his sense of humour even in their darkest days.
He wore many hats: coach, cabinet maker, stained glass maker, carver, husband, dad and friend. Jim Monteith was a dad to everyone, and because of that his kind and loving personality, and larger than life character, will live on in all of us forever.
Come celebrate his amazing and colourful life on Monday September 30, 2019, starting at St Brendan’s Church in Rockport, Ontario at 11am, follow the Bagpipers to the cemetery, then raise the roof at the Rockport Barn (28 Old River Rd). In lieu of flowers donations will be decided later.
