Helen Student
Helen Student passed away peacefully Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at the age of 98 years.
Helen was born in Friedensfeld, (Siberia), Russia and immigrated to Alberta, Canada in 1928 at the age of seven along with her parents, sisters: Annie, Sarah, Louise, baby Lydia and brother Abe. Her brother Henry was born after the family settled on a farm West of Lake Saskatoon, Alberta. Later the family took up a farmstead North of LaGlace, Alberta where sister Martha was born.
She will be sadly missed by her loving family- daughter Joyce Zahara (Frank) of Red Deer, Alberta, son Gerald Student (Karen) of Franktown, Colorado, sister Martha of Victoria, British Columbia; grandchildren: Chris Zahara (Karen), Roger Zahara (Cheryl Pawliw), Sean and Ryan Student; and great-grandson Zachary Zahara; together with several nieces and nephews, and also grand nieces and nephews.
Helen was predeceased by her husband Bill in 1992, her parents Jacob and Anna Enns, sisters: Annie, Sara, Louise, Lydia, brother Henry and adopted brother Abe, grandson Sean and son in-law Frank Zahara.
A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at 11:00am, at Emerson Trail Cemetery. A Reception will follow at 12:30pm, at Oliver’s Funeral Home in Grande Prairie (10005 107 Ave.).
