Gladys Ellen Thompson

Gladys Ellen (Lye) Thompson
Gladys Thompson passed away peacefully at the Lion’s Prairie Manor on Friday, September 6th, 2019 at the age of 105 years.
Gladys was predeceased by her parents Charles and Ella, her husband Earle (m. 1936), and her siblings; Henry (Hal), Albert, Ida, Florence, Ralph, Ethel, Dorothy, Norah and Olive.
Gladys was a lover of history, music, books, animals and a wide variety of creative activities. Being a lady of wry wit and generous heart, she was a strong contributor to community life and once mused that she came from an era of “doing things”. Gladys maintained a special connection with friends and family members. She was especially beloved by her nieces and nephews and their children. Gladys’ enduring wish remains: “remember me as I was”.
A funeral service will be held in her honour on Friday, September 13th, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at the Omega Funeral Home, 83 Royal Road S., Portage la Prairie with the Reverend John Dolloff officiating.
