George Robert Jones

George Robert Jones, born February 10, 1940, passed away on September 24, 2019 at the age of 79 years.
He was a talented handyman, pottery maker, lover of sports, and devoted husband, father, father-in-law, and grandfather. His paradise was his and Carole’s lake front property at Wabamun as well as their home in Florence, Arizona. Gentle George will be remembered as an intelligent, caring, hardworking, family man, quiet in a group, but always willing to talk about his latest project, or enthusiastically discuss sports or politics.
George is survived by Carole, his wife of 58 years; his children, Robert Jones (Rhonda), David Jones (Brenda), Stacey Ronsky (Dan), and Brian Jones (Angie); and his grandchildren, Brianne Jones (Riley), Davis Ronsky (Carly), Alyssa Jones (Mike), Neil Jones (Kara), Taylor Ronsky, Kyra Jones (Shane), Christopher Jones (Emily), Keith Jones (Lindsey), Russell Ronsky (Tori), and Rio Jones (Chadwick). He is also survived by his brother, Ken Jones (Diane); his brother-in-law, Bob Ashton; and their families. George was pre-deceased by his parents, Charles (Ted) and Dorothy Jones, and his sister, Barb Ashton.
The Jones/Ronsky family would like to thank the wonderful, compassionate staff at the Dulcina Hospice in Calgary for the kind care George received there.
A celebration of George’s life will be held at Millwoods Community Church (2304 – 38 Street NW, Edmonton) on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at 1:00 pm.
If you so desire, memorial contributions may be made in George’s name to the Alberta Diabetes Foundation (www.albertadiabetesfoundation.com) or St. Marguerite Manor – Dulcina Hospice (at www.covenantfoundation.ca).

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of George Robert Jones..
