With immense sadness we announce the passing of our wonderful, extraordinary husband, father and nonno Antonio Gariup. He passed away peacefully on September 1, 2019.
Antonio is survived by his daughters Darlene (Mario) and Giovanna, grandchildren Jessica, Roberto, Olivia, John, Antonia and great grandchild Giovanni. Antonio will be greatly missed by his daughters and grandchildren along with his sister and brother along with his brother in laws and sister in laws. Also numerous nieces and nephews will surely miss their generous caring uncle. “Granddogs” Oakley and Mac will also miss their nonno.
Antonio was an amazing person with a tremendous heart who spent time in the garden, fishing, raising his grandchildren and was a long time member of the FOE. He also took pride in caring for his late wife Lina of 64 years.
Antonio’s family wishes to gratefully thank the first responders such as the NPD, Nelson Paramedics and Dr. Sparrow.
A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2019 at 10:00 am at the Cathedral of Mary Immaculate, 813 Ward Street. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Antonio’s honour may be made to the BC Heart & Stroke Foundation.
