Frank Gibson

Francis Norman Victor Gibson, better known to friends and family as Frank has passed away in Courtenay hospital on September 4th ,2019 at the age of 74. Frank was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia In July 1945. Son of Frank and Geraldine and younger brother to beloved sister Joyce.
Frank moved to Uranium City, Sask. and worked in the mines during the 60s’. He eventually migrated west to the Coast, where he found work at Elk Falls Mill in Campbell River. Frank was employed at the Mill for more that 30 yrs, where he advanced to the position of tour boss of number five paper machine. After retiring from the Mill, Frank became a consultant for Albany International where he had the opportunity to pass on his vast amount of knowledge of the paper making industry to many others.
Frank loved the outdoors where he could go fishing, hunting, hiking, camping and of course golfing. He enjoyed travelling to golf courses around Canada and abroad but always kept a membership at Glacier Green golf course here in the Comox Valley. Frank has been a member at the Comox Legion since 1984. He was a member at the 888 Wing CFB Comox where he enjoyed visiting with friends.
Frank is survived by his siter Joyce Jelleau (Danny), sons Frank Gibson ( Emily), Tony Gibson (Heidi), stepsons Daryl Peacock (Marlene), Derek Peacock (Deirdre), 7 Grandchildren, niece, nephews, friend Tracy Lutley and so many life long friends.
As per Frank’s request, friends and family are invited to stop by #160 Legion Comox to share stories and a beer together between the hours of 1 -3 PM on October 6th, 2019.
