Obituary of Francis Barnier
Francis Barnier Sr. passed away at his residence, surrounded by his loving family, on Monday, September 9, 2019 at the age of 83.
Born in Chatham on February 16, 1936, he was the son of the late Joseph and Colletta (nee Matthews) Barnier.
Beloved husband of 61 beautiful years to Louella (nee Demers).
Dear father of the late Carol Ann Emery of Chatham, Francis (Maryann) Barnier of Chatham, & Allan (Lisa) Barnier of Tilbury.
Grandfather of Stephanie, Diana, Brendan, Dustin & Kyle, and great-grandfather of Chayce, Logan & Harper.
Brother of the late Peggy Demers, Gerry (Janet) Barnier, & Neil (Claudette) Barnier.
Uncle to many nieces & nephews.
Francis was a long time member of the Knights of Columbus in Dresden & Chatham. He enjoyed dancing, playing cards and telling jokes. Francis worked with Russell Tool & Die and retired from Navistar after 17 years of service.
Family to receive friends at McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Wednesday, September 11, 2019 from 3:00 – 5:00 pm & 7:00 – 9:00 pm. A Funeral Service to take place at the Funeral Home on Thursday at 1:00 pm. Cremation to follow.
Donations made in memory of Francis to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
