Florence “Flo” Marie Oakes (nee Brousseau) passed away at the Georgian Manor, Penetanguishene on Tues. Sept. 3rd 2019 at the age of 97. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Bernard Oakes. Loving mom of Ann (Leonard) Mailloux, Linda Amos, and Patricia (Bruce) MacMillan. Grandma of Kim, Laurie, Robbin and Bob. Great Grandma of Megan, Emma, Dawson, Karsyn and predeceased by her great grandson Brad. Sister of John and the late Robert. She will be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews. Born in Waubaushene (an original Georgian Bay girl, never far from the water), she moved to Toronto as a young woman to work and contribute to the WW2 effort where she met and married Bernard. They raised their three girls in Port Credit and cottaged in Tiny. Upon retirement they moved to Midland where they enjoyed cruising, traveling and spending time with family and friends. Internment will be private. A special thank you to all the staff of White Pine and the Georgian Manor for their care and compassion of our feisty mom over the last 4 years.
