Elizabeth M. “Betty” Hayward
1927-2019
The death of Elizabeth Margaret Hayward “Betty” of
Fredericton and formerly of Bristol occurred on Wednesday, September
18, 2019 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital, Fredericton, NB. Born
September 11, 1927 in Bristol, NB, she was the daughter of the late
William and Mary (Woodcock) Briggs. She was also predeceased by her
husband, Clarence.
Betty loved the great outdoors and enjoyed many camping, hunting, and
fishing trips with her family. She was a wonderful cook and quilter
and shared her talent and creations with many. Her greatest joy was
her family and spending time with them.
Betty is survived by her 6 children, Stephen Hayward (Elizabeth),
Brenda Jewett (John – deceased), Pamela Hatfield (Dwayne), Randy
Hayward (Audrey), Cathy Morris (Pat) and Nanette Giswold (Michael); 13
grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 1 sister, Joan Lunn as well as
several nieces, nephews and extended family.
Visitation will be held from Faith Memorial United Church, 175 Burnham
Rd. Florenceville-Bristol, NB on Monday, September 23, 2019 from 1-3
pm. A funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm with Rev. Susan
Estabrooks officiating. A reception will be held in the gathering hall
of the church immediately after. The interment will be in the Bristol
Community Cemetery for family only. Donations made to a charity of the
