Edwin Ed Morse Banks

On September 11th, 2019 Edwin Morse Banks peacefully passed away at Kingston General Hospital with his wife of 41 years, Lucille, by his side. Ed was born on September 14th, 1954 in Alliston, ON at the time his father was stationed in Borden, ON.
Ed met Lucille at church, while he was spending the summer working on his Grandfather’s farm in Schutt, ON. They married on May 6th, 1978. Ed completed 22 years of dedicated service to the Canadian Armed Forces, which was equally divided between the Army and the Air Force. After his service, he entered the construction industry where he worked until he retired in 2009.While his children were growing up, Ed was actively involved with their interests as he himself devoted numerous hours to the community when he was the President of Trenton Minor Baseball.
Ed and Lucille always wanted a place with lots of space. In 1994 they purchased land in Brighton, ON. Ed spent countless hours clearing the property, while still working and in 2001 they had a custom home built for them and their family.
In retirement Ed would spend time hunting and fishing back in Schutt, ON with his relatives and friends. When he was not up North, Ed spent a lot of time at home with his grandson Kalen. Ed is survived by his mother Shirley Banks; wife Lucille Banks; sons Jarid (Shannon) and Chad; grandchildren Kalen and Owen; brother Wayne; sisters Sharon, Donna and Diane. He is predeceased by his father Ernest Banks and brother Allan Banks.
As per Ed’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of Ed’s life will be planned at a later date.
