Edward Roy Edwards, 77, of Upper Gagetown, NB left us on
September 16, 2019.
His passing occurred at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional
Hospital, following a valiant fight against ‘our Superman’s’
kryptonite, cancer.
Ed, a proud, dedicated and long-time member
(1962–1993) of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police,
retired as Staff Sergeant, dedicating his total tenure to New
Brunswick (‘J’-Division).
Born to Edward Roy and Eva May Edwards (Leblanc) on April 4,
1942, in Halifax, NS, and later marrying his lovely Karen Ann Edwards
(Fullerton) on September 24, 1966 (Sackville, NB). Together
they created 53 wonderful years of memories and three equally
wonderful children.
He leaves as his legacy: daughter, Susan Winnifred
Edwards , grandson, Kaden Edward Bulger and son-in-law, David Michael
Vokey; son, Ralph Bruce Edwards and grandson, Jacob Edward
Yves Cote/Edwards; son, Christopher Roy Edwards, granddaughter, Kailey
Ann Edwards and daughter-in-law, Shelley Edwards. He also
leaves to cherish his memory, five beloved siblings: Pearl
(and Charlie) Williams; Harold – pre-deceased (and
Debbie/Eva) Edwards; Marilyn (and George) Campbell; Shirley (and Ed)
Patterson; Bob (and Lillian) Edwards; and, many loved nieces and
nephews.
Ed will be remembered by all as a fair and honest man; a
leader; a pillar of strength, knowledge and wisdom; a lover of nature
and the four seasons of adventure it provided him; a passionate man in
every aspect of his life; and, the stoic flagpole supporting the flags
of his family.
Honoring his wishes, an official service will not be
held. Family and friends will gather at his ‘piece of
paradise’ in the days to come to celebrate his life and share memories
made.
Should you wish to make a donation in his memory, the family
requests that it kindly be made to ‘Hope for Wildlife’ in Seaforth, NS
–
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Edward Roy Edwards..
