Edith passed away peacefully on July 26, 2019 in High River, AB. Edith was born on September 3, 1928 in Loverna, SK. She grew up on a farm with her parents and nine siblings. She moved to Saskatoon and trained as a seamstress, a training which proved its worth through the years. She was an active member of the Notre Dame Club at St. Joseph’s Parish where she met Hugo and many lifelong friends. Edith married Hugo September 2, 1961 and together they raised three children. Edi loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, sisters, brothers, and numerous nieces and nephews. Edi loved to dance, play cards, and be surrounded by many friends. She enjoyed baking and sharing her huge garden. Edith was a devout Catholic and an active member of the CWL. In 2003 Hugo and Edith moved to High River, AB to be closer to their daughters and grandchildren. She was predeceased by Hugo in 2018, their son Jim in 1983 and sister Ethel Horton in 1994. She is survived by daughters Theresia (Bob) McMaster, Liam and Sean; Cathy Brieskorn (Vern Hart) Emily and Madalyn; sisters Ellen Senger, Evelyn Grieves, Jean Epe (Jim); brothers Lawrence McKeary, Raymond McKeary (Mary Ann), Leonard McKeary (Ella Thompson); as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Edith was very kind hearted and had many long lasting friends. Her smile and sense of humour will be deeply missed. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at St. Philip Neri Parish (1902 Munroe Ave. S.) in Saskatoon, SK. The Rite of Committal will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery. Arrangements in care of David Schurr – Mourning Glory Funeral Services (306) 978-5200.
