Dorothy Irene ‘Dot’ Wreford, of Stratford, passed away peacefully at Hillside Manor on Friday, September 20, 2019. Born in Stratford, daughter of the late Wilfred Fountain and the former Amy Hembery. Beloved wife of the late Verdun Wreford. Loved mother of Dave (Joanne), Dianne (Sikke) Hoiting, and Don (Patti). Also survived by grandchildren Kerrie (Jim), Kevin, Derek (Katina), Scott (Julie), Greg (Denise), Brock (Natasha), Kyle (Candice), Troy, and Tyler (Katie), as well as 20½ great grandchildren, sister-in-law Betty Fountain and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by siblings Myrtle (Pat) Walsh, Wilf (Helen) Fountain, Gord (Bertha) Fountain, Doug (Ruth) Fountain, Wally Fountain, Doreen Bloomfield, Lorraine (Red) Leckie, Muriel (Jim) Johnston, and sister Joy in infancy. Dot was a proud member of the Legion who loved her cards, darts, and crokinole and visits with friends and family. She had a wonderful sense of humour and always had jokes to tell. Family and friends may gather at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford on Wednesday, September 25 from 2 – 3 pm, where a memorial celebration of Dorothy’s life will be held in the chapel at 3 p.m., followed by a reception. The family wish to extend a special thanks to the staff at Hillside Manor.
