Obituary of Doris Rhoda Brown
BROWN, Doris Rhoda (nee Laming)
1937 – 2019
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Doris on Friday, September 27th, peacefully at home surrounded by her family. We are thankful to know she is now in the arms of Jesus and reunited with her soulmate and one true love, Arthur Brown, who passed away 30 years ago. She will be deeply missed by her children, Dale (John) Page, Diane (Jeff) Caird, Marilyn McLean (Stewart, deceased), and Jim Brown. Beloved grandmother of Cheryl (Steven) Fisher, Adam (Mandy) MacLeod, Amy Caird, Emily Caird, Laurie McLean (Adrian LeBlanc), David Brown (Amanda Tibbutt), Josh Brown. Cherished great-grandmother “Nana” to Sophie, Owen, Valerie, Evelyn, Rachel, and Breanna. Will be missed by her dear friends Gerry and Susanne (her Tim Horton’s daily lunch dates), her church family at Bethel Pentecostal, Battersea, her long-time friend and travel companion, Nan Libbey, and many other good friends. Predeceased by her parents Hallie and Edna Laming, and siblings Leita, Helena and Hollus. Doris loved to travel, but her greatest passion in life was her family. A special thank you to Margaret O’Neill and all of the Palliative Care Team for their wonderful, compassionate care of Mom during this time. Family and friends will be received at the JAMES REID FUNERAL HOME, 1900 John Counter Boulevard, on Tuesday, October 1 from 2 – 4 pm and 7 – 9 pm. Funeral service in the Chapel on Wednesday, October 2 at 10:30 am with Pastor Lewis Bryant officiating. Interment Glenhaven Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Doris may be made to Camp Trillium, Bethel Pentecostal Church, or a charity of your choice.
