1923-2019
Dora Deane Elkins of Gordonsville passed away on Friday, August 30,
2019 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital in Fredericton. She was born
in Fielding on April 22, 1923 and was the daughter of the late Douglas
and Lila Schriver. She was also predeceased by her husband, Sam
Elkins; son, Donald Elkins; stepson, Hugh John Elkins; son-in-law,
Allan Bushby; granddaughter, Jennifer; siblings, Mameree, Wilfred,
George, Kenneth, Doris, Donald, Roland, Eva and special niece, Arlene
Kinney.
Dora is survived by her children, Brenda Elkins, Brent (Valerie)
Elkins, Cindy Bushby; daughter-in-law, Ruth Elkins; 6 grandchildren,
Sam (Saphire), Conway (Stephanie), Andrea (Bill), Stephen, Jennifer,
Amy, Sara; 9 great grandchildren, Aspen, Nicholas, Abigail, Mary,
Sarah, Samantha, Marissa, Bentley, Brysen; several other nieces and
nephews. Dora was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Visitation will be held at the Fielding Baptist Church on Sunday,
September 1, 2019 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. followed by the funeral
service at 4:00 p.m. with Pastor Vaughn Palin officiating. Interment
will be in the Fielding Cemetery. Donations can be made to the
Fielding Baptist Church or the Fielding Cemetery.
