The family of Don Hannett of Edmonton is saddened to announce his unexpected passing from heart failure, at the age of 65 years.
He will be lovingly remembered by his daughters: Amy Hannett, Kelley Hannett (Mike), Shannon (Geoff) Abell and Christina Kisling; grandchildren, Austin and Kyla Hannett, Sarah and Nick Abell; sisters: Judy Cori, Sherry Sabin; brother Terry (Lorna) Hannett, as well as many other family, friends and work colleagues.
Don had recently retired from a long career as programmer and analyst, with a SAIT and NAIT degree. He moved from Calgary, with his wife Laura, and worked in Ventura, CA and Southfield, MI for a decade before returning to Edmonton, AB.
He had a lifelong passion for model trains, woodworking, computers and science fiction. He had a clever sense of humor, loved his cat and was always full of ideas for new projects.
Cremation has taken place, at Don’s request no service will be held.
