Denis Joseph Gilles Parent age 59 years of Dartmouth passed away peacefully on August 31, 2019 at the Victoria General Hospital. Born in Halifax he was a son of the late Bernard and Jean (Faulkner) Parent. Predeceased by his brother Bernard Parent. Survived by sister Bernadette (Dawson) and brothers Paul, Claude, and Rene. Nieces Stephanie, Michelle, Nicole and Robin.
In Denis’ early years he worked at Elmsdale Lumber. He then worked at Mountain Security at the Airport Industrial Park for 7 years. Afterwards he worked in the construction industry on and off. Denis spent his later years taking care of his father whom he loved dearly.
Denis enjoyed going for walks and spending time with his friends and family. He had a fun personality and will be remembered for his quirks.
His family sends their gratitude and thanks to Dartmouth General, the VG and his caregivers for their support. Especially his best friend George Negus who was always by his side until the end.
Visitation will be held 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.Tuesday September 10, 2019 at Dartmouth Funeral Home, 29 Queen Street, Dartmouth.
