Obituary for Davis Franklin Bartraw
Davis Franklin Bartraw passed away unexpectedly and tragically at 20 years of age, on September 19th, 2019. Davis will be lovingly missed by his Dad, Danny Bartraw (Jessica Wright), his Mommy Debra Bartraw and Step-Dad Greg Brown, Step-Mom Theresa Bartraw, siblings Ellie Brown, Cole Panchuk-Brown, Ryan Jacobs, Brody Bartraw, Kiera Pitchko, Lauryn Pitchko, Gavin Wright, and Cadence Wright. He will also be missed by Grandparents, William & Carol Bartraw, Frank & Sharon Smith, Glenda & Adrian Hermary, Nanny & Poppy White, his Nan & Pop Brown and many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and wonderful Friends. Davis was predeceased by his Grandmother Rita Smith and his beautiful sister Alyssa Bartraw.
Davis was born in Creston, BC on November 16, 1998, and moved to Cranbrook in September of 2004 where he enjoyed playing hockey, baseball and skiing in his younger years and focussed on his education as he entered high school. Davis excelled throughout his educational journey, earning “A” list, Powerlist and Honour Roll standing. Davis graduated from Mount Baker Secondary School in 2016 with a Dual Dogwood Diploma. He began his post-secondary education at the College of the Rockies taking the Electrical Foundations Program, which proved to be an asset when he moved to Chatham, Ontario and graduated with High Distinction from the Powerline Technician Program at St. Clair College in 2019.
Davis loved to be in nature whether it be fly fishing, dirt biking, camping, boating or just hanging out with family and friends. He was the most loving, caring and kind-spirited person, and always made time to listen to a friend. Davis was a remarkable young man who exemplified all the great in this world and who shared his love with hugs.
A celebration of life will be held at the Days Inn Cranbrook on Saturday, September 28 at 4:00 PM. Doors will open at 3:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ronald McDonald House of Southern Alberta.
