McKenzie, Charles ‘Darryl’, peacefully passed away on Friday September 27, 2019, at Collingwood General & Marine Hospital, in his 74th year. Darryl is predeceased by parents Neil and Beryl and his siblings Blaine, Paul and Richard. He will be lovingly remembered by his nieces Chris McKenzie (Tara), Paul Crockford (Bill), and sister in law Terry McKenzie, along with great niece Ebb, and great nephews Cam, Ty and Gabe. Darryl attained a Master Degree in Special Education, and spent many years in the classroom until health concerns dictated the timing of his retirement. A two time kidney transplant recipient, Darryl recognized that he had twice been given a wonderful gift of life. The family wishes to thank the nurses for the compassionate care given to Darryl during his lengthy hospital stay, and in particular Dr. Ashley Colter, who helped them through a very difficult time. Darryl’s requests for cremation and no formal service are being respected by the family.
