Constance “Connie”‘s Obituary
DeViller, Constance (Connie) Maude – age 84, of Melbourne, passed away peacefully on Saturday August 31, 2019 at Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born on January 9, 1935 in Grand Lake, Halifax County she was the daughter of the late Charles and Ada (Stevens) Hines. Connie was an Irish moss buyer. She enjoyed quilting, needle work and country music. Most of all Connie loved being a mom and taking care of her children and her husband Ernest. She and Ernie loved to spend time together; they could be found fishing at the wharf, camping at Ellenwood and travelling to all the Blue Grass Festivals throughout NS, NB, PEI, and Maine. Connie loved to play cards and where ever she was she had a deck of cards; she hosted many a card game with family and friends. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Ernest; her children; Yvette (Harry) Frost, Yarmouth; Paulette (Robert) Flynn, Meteghan Station; Gene (Rhonda) DeViller, Melbourne; Chris (Brenda) DeViller, Melbourne; Cedric DeViller, Yarmouth; Kelvin (Irene) DeViller, Melbourne; Cherie (Bill) Hemeon, Arcadia; Shirley (Neil) d’Entrement, Melbourne; fourteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren; sisters: Joyce McComiskey, Florence (Douglas) McKay; brothers: Leonard (Carolyn) Hines, and Brian (Carolyn) Hines. She was predeceased by her sisters; Norma Oderkirk, Doris Malone, Sharon Daphanie, and Ethel Garnier and her brothers William and Jackie Hines. Visitation will take place from 6-8p.m. with evening prayers at 7 p.m. on Monday September 2, 2019 at H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home and Crematoriun at 29 Albert Street, Yarmouth. The funeral mass will take place at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church on Tuesday September 3, 2019 at 11 a.m. Burial to take place at a later date.
