It is with profound sadness that the family of Cecilia McInnes (Meagher) announces her passing on September 29, 2019 at the age of 85 years of age surrounded by her loving family.
Cecilia was the beloved wife of the amazing Stewart McInnes (2005). Born in Mary’s Town, Newfoundland, youngest daughter of the late Ernest and Cecilia Walsh. She is survived by her sister Leona Fleming and in-laws John & Joan McInnes and Al Grant. Predeceased by her siblings Thomas, Gertie, Loretta, Ernestine & Ernie and her in-laws Ted Fleming, Claude Tremblay, Marge Walsh, Graham & Nancy McInnes, and Bob & Marlene McInnes.
Loving mother to Michael & Maria McInnes, Christine McInnes & Leo Therrien, Katherine & Derrick Brodhagen and son-in-law Bruce Dickenson (Lilly & Chelsea). Predeceased by daughters Patricia McInnes, Colleen Dickenson and grandson Brent David Brodhagen.
Proud grandma to John (Erin), Sherri (Darren), Patricia (Greig), Adam (Rochelle), Katrina (Dean), Nicholas (Avrey), Ryan (Kira), Alexandra & Emma. Great-grandma to Brandon, Logan, Keiran, Gavan, Colleen, Victoria and Rachel.
She will be sadly missed by many friends and neighbours. Special thanks to the kind caregivers at Spruce Lodge. Cecilia’s family welcomes everyone to say ‘good-bye’ at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford on Tuesday, October 1 from 2- 4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. with CWL prayers at 1:45 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, 96 Huron Street, Stratford, on Wednesday, October 2 at 10 a.m. with Fr. Dick Bester officiating. A reception will be held in the Parish Hall following the interment in Avondale Cemetery.
