Brenda Heffernan

It is with great sadness the family regrets to announce the passing of Brenda Jean Heffernan of Edmonton, Alberta. Following a courageous fight with Cancer, Brenda passed peacefully with family and friends by her side, on September 8, 2019.
Brenda was born in Edmonton, Alberta on February 14, 1953 and was the middle child of Phil and Florence Lindquist. Upon graduation from the University of Alberta, Brenda began her career as a Physiotherapist before finding her second passion as a faculty member at Grant MacEwan University where she finished her career.
An avid traveller, Brenda explored the world with some of her favorite locations being Ireland, New Zealand, Hawaii, and New York City.
Brenda is survived by her brother, Craig (Kim); sons, James (Agnes), Tom (Heather), and Alec (Alex); grandchildren, Sam and Hannah; and many loving nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. She was predeceased by her parents, Phil and Florence, and sister, Heather.
Brenda was a loving Mother and Grandmother who brought a sense of humor and quick wit to any occasion.
We would like to thank the Cross Cancer Institute, Royal Alex Hospital, and Norwood Hospice for the compassionate care they provided.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Connelly-McKinley, 10011 – 114 Street, Edmonton, at 7:00 PM on Saturday, September 14, 2019.
