Bertha Elva Hollingsworth (Miller)
Bertha Elva Hollingsworth – 79, Debert, formally of Brookfield, passed away peacefully in Debert Court on Saturday, August 31, 2019.
Born in Noel Shore, she was a daughter of the late Ernest and Ellen (Hines) Miller.
Bertha spent most of her life in Brookfield working side by side with her husband, Ronnie in the Taxidermist Shop. She was an adherent of The Peoples Church, Truro. Following Ronnie’s passing, she was very happy living at Debert Court where she received excellent care.
Bertha is survived by sisters, Ora Nolan, Erma (Ron) Lamond, Ruby Dimock, Kaye Borden and Pauline Keating; sister in law, Shirley Lutz; many nieces and nephews. Along with her husband Ronald of over 50 years, she was predeceased by sisters, Myrtis Hennigar; Opal Luitkas; brothers, Jack, Harry, Louis and Frank.
A special thank you to the nurses and staff of Debert Court for your care and support.
Bertha is resting in the Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro from where visitation will be held Wednesday, September 4 from 6-8pm with funeral service on Thursday, September 5 at 2pm in the funeral home chapel. Pastor Ken Fillmore will officiate with interment to follow in Terrace Hill Cemetery. If so desired, donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
