Obituary of Bernice Martha Metzger
Metzger, Bernice Martha (Hahn)
Peacefully passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2019 at Grand River Hospital, Kitchener, one month short of her 89th birthday.
Lovingly remembered by her children, Ken and Rose Metzger, Keith and Sandy Metzger, Karen and Garry Becker, Diane Merner (Bob 2019), Donna Phillips, Kim Metzger, and Lynn and Johnny Curran. Treasured ‘Gramma’ of 18 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
Predeceased by her parents Menno and Helena (Berg) Hahn, husband Charles W. Metzger (1994), siblings Esther Leonard, Archie Hahn and Orville Hahn, and special friend Don Martin (2011).
The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, September 25, 2019 from 1-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, 62 Arthur St. S., Elmira.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 26, 2019 at 11 a.m. at St. James Lutheran Church, 1407 King St. N., St. Jacobs, with Rev. Karen Kuhnert officiating. A reception will follow in the church hall. Interment at 2:30 p.m. in St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery, Linwood, with Pastor Mark Urquhart officiating.
