Obituary of Barry Zolkivski
Barry Zolkivski, 76 of Truro, passed away September 25, 2019 in his home. Born in Alberta, he was the son of the late Michael and Edith (Shnare) Zolkivski.
Barry was an avid stamp collector and served as the President of the Truro Stamp Club. He loved to walk the Cobequid trail and socialized with his trail buddies. He was a Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus, volunteered with St. Vincent de Paul to help the less fortunate, RCIA – bible study class on behalf of the Catholic church in Truro, delivered Holy Eucharist to the sick and home bound. He also volunteered with the Colchester Historeum.
Barry was best known for his good deeds and his kindness to all in the community.
He is survived by his loving wife Helen (Power); sons Michael and Craig, both of Truro; grandchildren Christian, Sarah and Matthew; great-grandchild Amelia Grace; brother Rick Michaels of Edmonton, AB; sisters Debbie Arcand, Trish Bowie and Carolyn Yanda all of Edmonton.
A Celebration of Barry’s Life will be held on Friday, October 4, 2019 at 11:00 am in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 669 Prince Street, Truro, NS. Memorial donations may be made to the Charity of One’s Choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr., Coldbrook, NS, B4P 1B9 (902-679-2822).
