— Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of His godly ones.“
Psalm 116:15 NASB
On Sunday, September 22, 2019, Barry Dennis, husband, father, son and brother, passed away after a brief illness at the age of 65 years.
Barry was born on October 22, 1953 in Prince Rupert, BC to Earl and Mary Dennis. The family moved to Nanaimo, BC three years later, where he grew up. At the age of 18 years, with his wife and first son, Barry moved to Kitimat, BC where they lived for the next 16 years and where four more children were born. In 1988, the family relocated to Courtenay to own and operate Mission Possible Appliances. In the early 2000s, after passing on Mission Possible to three of his grown sons, Barry owned and operated several more businesses including an AlarmForce franchise in southern Vancouver Island and, most recently, C.V. Metal Products, which is currently run by one of his sons. Barry was a man who loved his Lord and Saviour. He worshiped and served at Elim Gospel Chapel since relocating to the Comox Valley.
Barry will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Cathy, and his five children, Shane (Patti), Stephanie (Ian), Alec, Luke and Drew (Maria). He will also fondly be remembered by his thirteen grandchildren, Stephanie, Olivia, Jade, Avarie, Jordan, Alyssa, Andon, Aaron, Jaxson, Sydney, Eli, Sawyer and Meadow as well as his two greatgrandchildren, Faye and Oaklan. He will also be forever remembered by his mother, Mary, his siblings, Geraldine (John), Owen, Tamme and Tracy as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and inlaws. Barry was predeceased by his father, Earl, in 2003.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2019, at 1:00 pm, at Elim Gospel Chapel, 566 5th Street, Courtenay, BC. A reception will follow at the same location.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Barry Dennis..
