It is with great sadness that the family of Arthur Earl Greek, 83, of Harbour View Haven Home for Special Care, Lunenburg and formerly of Blue Rocks, announce his passing on Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater.
Born in Blue Rocks, he was the son of the late Howard and Madelyn (Hynick) Greek.
Arthur started his sea going career at an early age, inshore lobstering and then went to work in Lunenburg for 31 years in the garages of Lorraine Tanner, Bluenose Motors and Lunenburg Foundry. After retirement he went back lobstering with his brother, Collie.
He was a member of St. Barnabas Anglican Church, Blue Rocks.
Arthur is survived by a brother, Collie (JoAnne) Greek, Blue Rocks; niece, Angela (Andrew) Lohnes, Mahone Bay and a nephew, Jody (Susan) Corkum-Greek, Bayport; great nieces and nephews, Nathan, Maddie, Max and Jack.
He was predeceased by his wife, Judith.
Friends are invited to share their memories of Arthur with his family during visitation at the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213 Hwy. # 3, Lunenburg, Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service to celebrate Arthur’s life will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at St. Barnabas Anglican Church, Blue Rocks , The Very Rev. John Wright officiating. Interment will be in Upper Blue Rocks Cemetery, Blue Rocks.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made to St. Barnabas Anglican Church, Upper Blue Rocks Cemetery or to a charity of your choice.
