Obituary of Arlene Michele Smerdon
Smerdon, Arlene – Suddenly on Thursday, September 12, 2019. Arlene, in her 56th year, loving mother of Chelsea and Kieran. Fondly remembered by Mark. Beloved sister of Lynn (Craig), Gail (Cameron), John and the late Jason. Devoted aunt of Liam, Tyler, Seoim, Ryan, Lindsay, Zack, Luke, Julie, Emily, Ryme, Olivia, Isaac, Amelia, Loghan and Coulter. Arlene is also predeceased by her parents John and Karen Wilson. She will be lovingly remembered by Kamaia. Dear sister-in-law Julian (Nicky) and Peter. Arlene was born in Glace Bay Nova Scotia she attended Cape Breton University, Saint Francis Xavier and Dalhousie University. She received her Masters in Speech and Language Pathology. She was employed with the Dufferin Peel Catholic School Board for over 30 years, where she worked with children with special needs and autism. She loved music, movies, dancing and shared a passion for baseball with her dad and brothers. She was beautiful, caring and generous to all who knew her. Arlene loved her family with all her heart and her children were the light of her life.
Friends will be received at the Jones Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Road, Georgetown, on Friday, September 20, 2019 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 14400 Argyll Road, Georgetown, on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. Reception to follow at the Eagle Ridge Golf Club, 11742 10 Line, Georgetown. Cremation. In lieu of flowers, donations to Autism Ontario are greatly appreciated.
