Ardith Madeline Hiltz Canning

Ardith Madeline Canning Hiltz, 92, of Harbour View Haven, Home for Special Care, Lunenburg passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 3, 2019 at Harbour View Haven.
Born in Bass River, NS, she was the beloved daughter of Frederick and Minnie (Munro) Canning.
Ardith was a proud graduate of Acadia and Dalhousie Universities and spent most of her teaching career at Halifax West High School. She was also a faithful and active member of West End Baptist Church, Halifax. In later years she attended Northwest Baptist Church, Lunenburg County, NS.
Ardith was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Donald Raymond Hiltz, and her brothers, Hugh and Cyril.
Funeral Arrangements entrusted to the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213 Hwy. # 3, Lunenburg, where a memorial service to celebrate Ardith’s life will be held on Friday, at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Dr. Aaron Kenny, officiating. Interment will be in Sunny Valley Cemetery, Centre.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to SHAID Tree Animal Shelter, 100 High St., Suite 138, Bridgewater, NS B4V 1V9
Thanks to the staff at Harbour View Haven for their care of Ardith and also to the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home for their support at this time. A special thank you to the wonderful neighbours on Harbour View Drive whose selfless support enabled Donald and Ardith to enjoy extra time in their home.
