June Burke

June Virginia Burke, Went to be with the Lord at Victoria Manor Lindsay on Monday September 2, 2019 at the age of 84. June was born in Colborne Ontario on September 19, 1934 to her late parents George and Georgina Edwards and was predeceased by her brothers Ronald and Paul. She married Douglas Burke 1953, and resided near Omemee Ontario for 55 years. Together they raised three children Brian, Randy and Linda and built up Burkes Honey Business. June was always active in the business with sales, deliveries and wherever she was needed. June and Doug moved to Lindsay in 2008. June was creative and used this gift at home, church, and her many beautiful stained glass creations. She was a loving wife and mother and was always involved in the lives of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. First and foremost she loved the Lord and looked forward to spending an eternity in heaven. Survived by her husband Douglas her children Brian (Jennifer) Burke, Randy (Cathy) Burke, Linda (Henry) Brinks, her grandchildren Jeffery (Heidi) Burke, Julie (Matthew) Hayden, Tim Burke, Laura (Peter) Stirling, Greg (Melissa) Burke, Stephen (Candice) Brinks, Daniel Brinks, David (Kirsten) Brinks 17 great grandchildren. Remembered by her numerous nieces and nephews and one sister in law Barbara Edwards.
Family and friends are invited to call at Mackey Funeral Home 33 Peel Street Lindsay on Friday September 6 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm and Saturday September 7 from 10:00 am until time of service at Fairview Baptist Church 130 Colbourne Street West Lindsay at 11:00 am. A private family burial will take place late that day. If desired memorial donations to Kawartha Lakes Pregnancy Centre or Fairview Baptist Church would be appreciated and may be made through the funeral home or online at www.mackeys.ca
