Obituary of Mirko “Mike” Gustin
GUSTIN, Mirko “Mike”- Of St. Thomas, passed away peacefully at the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Sunday, September 1, 2019, in his 88th year. Beloved husband for nearly 60 years to Josephine (née Dusic) Gustin. Dearly loved father of Mike Gustin, and Steve Gustin (Laura Potts), and cherished grandfather of Michelle Gustin, and Michael Gustin. Dear brother of Barica Starcevic, Marica Rudman, Dragica Rocnik, Ivan Gustin, late Anna Rudman, and the late Mika Gustin. Also fondly remembered by his in-laws, nieces, nephews and their families. Born in Dvorisce, Croatia, November 27, 1931, he was the son of the late Ivan and Kata (née Rudman) Gustin. Mike retired from the Ford Motor Company of Canada’s St. Thomas Assembly Plant after 30 years of service. He was a member of St. Leopold Mandic Croatian Catholic Church, London. Relatives and friends will be received by the family at the SIFTON FUNERAL HOME, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas (519-631-1160) on Thursday evening, September 5th from 7:00-9:00 p.m. (Prayers at 8:00 p.m.). The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Leopold Mandic Croatian Catholic Church, 2889 Westminster Dr. , London on Friday, September 6th at 10:00 a.m. Following interment in Holy Angels’ Cemetery, St. Thomas, a private family luncheon will be held. Memorial donations to the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital Foundation will be gratefully acknowledged.
