Sheldon “Shep”‘s Obituary
Sheldon Richard Epp, known to everyone as “Shep”, passed away at the Red Lake Memorial Cochenour Hospital at the age of 62 with his family by his side. True to form, he was tough and brave to the very end – never complaining.
He will be remembered by his wife Kathie of 40 years as a strong man who lived his life the way he wanted. His three daughters, Pamela (Dale), Tristan (George) and Kaidyn (Connor) were his top priorities. Being a grandpa “pop-pop” brought him much pride, and stories of them were often big news at the coffee shop. Stephanos, Hudson, Suri and Sophia will miss sharing his chips and watching hockey and Little House on the Prairie together.
Shep was born in Altona, Manitoba and worked as a mechanic all of his life. He never stayed in one place too long until his travels brought him to Red Lake, Ontario in 1996. He found his coffee crew and the golf course and the rest was history.
His family was everything to him and he leaves behind three brothers and one sister in his home town of Neepawa, Manitoba, along with many nieces and nephews who all enjoyed their Uncle Shep’s big and bold personality. He was a favorite to many and always promised many good laughs.
Like he always said, he’s “the BEST there is,the BEST there was,and the BEST there ever will be”!
As per his wishes, cremation will take place. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date, to be announced.
Donations can be made to the RLMCH Foundation through the Red Lake Chapel, Box 237, Red Lake, ON P0V2M0.
