Arthur Joseph McKenzie

Arthur Joseph McKenzie
1949-2019
McKENZIE, Arthur Joseph
– Age 69, Cleveland. It is with great sadness that we
announce the sudden passing at home of our beloved Father, Grandfather
and Friend on Friday, September 20, 2019. Born on November 22, 1949 in
Glace Bay, Art was the son of the late Arthur and Jermina (Gallant)
McKenzie of Reserve Mines.
Art had a small but very close circle of friends with whom he
enjoyed gardening, fishing, playing crib, going for drives, trying new
restaurants and various carpentry and mechanical projects. He was
truly a jack of all trades. He was very a very proud father and
grandfather. Spending time with his son and grandchildren brought him
great joy. Nothing was more important to Art then his family. He will
be dearly missed for who he was, what he knew, his sense of humor,
great advice and helping hand.
He is survived by his only son, Shawn McKenzie (Catherine);
grandchildren, Carson and Raina MacKenzie; dear friend, Ida Allen;
brothers, Doug (Jody) McKenzie, Murray (Dorothy) McKenzie; sisters,
Peggy (Tom) Foley, Agnes Gill, Georgina McKenzie; many nieces and
nephews. Art was predeceased by his parents, brother, Michael
McKenzie; sister, Anna Lee.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held
from 2-4 p.m. on Saturday, September 28 in Dennis Haverstock Funeral
Home, Port Hawkesbury. Burial at a later date. Family flowers only
please.
Memorial donations may be made to a charity of
one’s choice. Words of comfort may be forwarded to the
family at www.haverstocks.com
