Russ Kennedy of Meaford passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at Chapman House Hospice in Owen Sound on Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at the age of 88.
He was predeceased by his wife Jeanette Lily (nee Forster) in 2003, and will be remembered fondly by his friend and partner Fern Vereshack of Meaford.
Russ was the dear father of Ian Kennedy of Meaford, Lorraine Wilder of Cold Lake, AB, and Theresa Collins and her husband Rick of Kitchener. He was predeceased by his son Terry Kennedy, and will always be remembered by his daughter-in-law Tina. He was the proud grandpa of Caitlin, Brandon, Morgan, Bethany, Christopher, Erin, and great grandfather of Tatum, Trinity, Logan, Thayne, Snow, and Paige.
Russ was a dedicated member and past president of the R.C.L. Branch 32 and the Lion’s Club of Meaford. He enjoyed playing music and entertaining in the community, whether at Riverside Community Centre or the Nursing Home.
A funeral service will be conducted at Knox Presbyterian Church in Meaford on Thursday, September 26, 2019 at 11 o’clock with interment following at Lakeview Cemetery in Meaford.
