Hazel Bucci
1931-2019
Following a brief illness, Hazel Geraldine Bucci of Plaster Rock, NB,
passed away peacefully on September 18, 2019 at the Victoria Glen
Manor.
Hazel was born in Plaster Rock, NB, on March 13, 1931. She was the
daughter of the late Crudence and Elsie (Baker) Schofield and was the
last surviving member of the Schofield Family. Hazel leaves behind her
daughters, Karen Jenkins (Brian) of New Maryland, NB, Sandra Dow
(John) of St. Stephen, NB, and Brenda Bucci of Plaster Rock, NB; her
sons, Richard Bucci (Shawn) of Riley Brook, NB, John Bucci (Kelly) of
Plaster Rock, NB, and Paul Bucci (Sherry) of Brownville Junction, ME.
She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, two
great great grandsons, and many nieces and nephews.
Hazel was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Gerald Bucci; her
sisters, Mary Lavenia Bucci (at birth), Helen Mae Roberts, and Elsie
Burridge; her brothers, Ed, Bill, and Wallace Schofield.
In her early years, Hazel was employed at Herb Green’s Store in
Plaster Rock. She was also a homemaker for many years as she raised
her six kids. She was an avid member of St. Andrew’s United Church,
the church choir, the UCW and the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies
Auxiliary. Hazel and her husband, Gerald, spent many hours together
traveling, snowmobiling, hunting, fishing, and canoeing.

Their kindness and compassion will always be remembered.
There will be a private family burial on September 28, 2019 at the
Plaster Rock Community Cemetery. Following the burial, a reception
will be held at St. Andrew’s United Church Hall at 1 pm for family and
friends.
For those who wish, memorial donations to the Royal Canadian Legion,
Branch #29, or to St. Andrew’s United Church would be appreciated by
the family.
