BINNS, Archdeacon Laughton O’Connell –
Passed away peacefully with family by his side at Alexander Place in Waterdown on Monday, September 16, 2019 at the age of 85. Loving and devoted husband of Marion (nee Bryant) for 52 years. Cherished father of Cheryl Clark (Tab), Michael Binns (Trish), and Robert Binns (Holly). Proud grandfather of Zachary, William, Cameron, Faith, Samuel, Eve, Alexander, Nicholas and Jaxton. Dear brother of Carmen Binns, Roy Binns and the late Delta Binns. Laughton will be sadly missed by many extended family and numerous friends. Laughton was a retired Archdeacon of the Diocese of Niagara, a clergy at St. Christopher’s Anglican Church in Burlington, Good Shepherd in St. Catherines, Holy Trinity in Welland and also served in the Diocese of Moosonee. Laughton was a very active and devoted member of the Parkinson’s Society and was involved in the organization’s Super Walk for a number of years. He was also an avid golfer and a member of the Ontario Daylily Society. Visitation at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stoplight north of QEW), BURLINGTON, 905-632-3333, on Wednesday, September 18, 2019 from 5-8p.m. Funeral Service will be held at St. Luke’s Anglican Church, 1371 Elgin Street, Burlington on Thursday, September 19, 2019 at 11a.m. Reception to follow. Interment at Woodland Cemetery, Hamilton. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Parkinson’s Society would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
