Clarence Gruszie

Clarence Gilbert Gruszie, beloved husband of Leona Gruszie of Medicine Hat, passed away on Tuesday, September 10th, 2019 at the age of 83 years. Clarence also leaves to cherish his memory two sons, Brad (Gloria) Gruszie of Medicine Hat and Blake Gruszie of Vernon, BC; two grandchildren, Christopher Gruszie (Jamie Hardy) and Kyle Gruszie (Courtney Toms); one sister, Betty (George) Berg; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Clarence was predeceased by his parents, Gustav and Emma Gruszie; and one brother, Charles Gruszie. Clarence was born on December 13th, 1935 in Thorsby, Alberta. He married Leona Jacober on August 2nd, 1958 in Medicine Hat. Clarence enjoyed fastball, curling and seniors slow pitch. He loved the Medicine Hat Tigers and went to almost all the Maverick games each season. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL, 1 Dunmore Road SE, on Monday from 1:00 until 1:55 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL, on Monday, September 16th, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. with Gary W. Goran officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery. Memorial gifts in Clarence’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 325 Manning Road NE, Calgary, Alberta, T2E 2P5.
