Elmo Charles Wilcox

Passed away peacefully with his family by his side at the Brantford General Hospital on Monday, September 9, 2019 at the age of 83. Loving father of Kelly “Pebbles”, Debbie and Scott Wilcox. Proud grandfather of Steven and Richard Wilcox. Cherished great-grandfather of Owen and Haydn Wilcox. Elmo will also be missed by his brothers Ralph and Murray and sister-in-law Mary. Dear uncle and hero to many nieces and nephews and extended family members. Predeceased by his parents Morley and Carrie Pearl Wilcox as well as his siblings; Lynn, Mary, Jack, Don, Jean, Ross and brother-in-law Russ and brother and best friend Stuart. He was a past employee of the Brantford City Works Dept., retiring after 20 years of service. He was also a long time member of the Brantford Artillery and Gunners Club #21. Elmo enjoyed cooking, watching sports and playing cards with his friends. He will be missed. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Nurse “Angels” Tara and Sam and all the staff in the ICU at the BGH as well as Dr. Ajayi for the compassionate care given to Elmo. A very special thanks to Doris Kish and Dave Goodbrand who went above and beyond to help Elmo in his final years. The family will receive friends at the TOLL FUNERAL HOME, 55 Charing Cross Street, Brantford on Thursday, September 12, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment to follow at Greenwood Cemetery Waterford. As expressions of sympathy, donations in memory of Elmo can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
