Obituary for John James Rooney
September 21, 1948 – August 11, 2019
John will be deeply missed by all his family. He passed away on August 11, 2019 at the age of 70 after a battle with cancer. John was born in Montreal, Quebec on September 21, 1948 to parents Muriel Rita Tite and James Phillip Alphonsus Rooney.
John is survived by a large blended family, a son-Richard (Ricky), sisters-Beverley (McDowell), Jo-Ann (Hutchinson); brother-Stephen; half-brother-Richard; step-sisters-Valerie(Suzie) (Moyle) and Sharon (Lyons) along with many nephews and nieces. Pre-deceased by his parents and by sister-Linda (Halward); brother-Michael; step-brother-Clarence (Woodward); and stepmother Alice Woodward Rooney.
After moving to British Columbia from Quebec many years ago, John retired as a Building Service Worker for the City of Vancouver and settled in Squamish BC where he continued to work, live and belonged to the Squamish Senior Citizen Home Society. He was very happy there and enjoyed biking, boating and the wilderness. John was always happiest when he was amongst nature. He would go into the woods and be by himself for days at a time. It is what he loved to do the most in his retirement. He will also be deeply missed by all his friends in Squamish.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of John James Rooney..
