It is with great sorrow that the family of Elaine Anne Toop regrets to announce that she was called home on Friday August 23rd, 2019 in Vernon, BC after a courageous battle with cancer. Elaine is survived by her children Joanne (Robert) of Smithers, BC, Steven of Lumby, BC and Paula (Rob) of Oliver, BC, special friend of the family Dale Tardiff, 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, sisters Phyllis (Maurice), Frieda (Tom), Marlene and many nieces and nephews. Elaine is predeceased by parents Lucy and Ed Nolan, Dennis Toop (late husband), son John and Paul Korytko (father of her children), sisters Bonita, Lorraine, Joanne, Ramona, and brother Christopher. A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00am on Saturday October 12th at St. Benedict’s Head of the Lake Catholic Church (112 Head of the Lake Rd, Vernon, BC), followed by a celebration of life at the Elks Hall 3103 30th Street, Vernon, BC. Mom requested the following in her obituary: Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving in a pretty and well-preserved body but rather to skid in broadside thoroughly used up, totally worn out loudly proclaiming WOW, WHAT A RIDE! In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
