Cyrus Ben Lansall Clarke

It is with shock and sadness that the family of Cyrus Ben Lansall-Clarke announces his passing on Friday, September 6, 2019, at the age of 27. Cyrus was born in Montréal, Oct 20, 1991 and was the bright light and beloved son of Lorraine (Lori) Frances Clarke (Phil Winters) and Lisle Lansall-Ellis (Ann Morey). Cyrus was a bold, brave, kind-hearted, insightful, passionate, loving, talented person. He loved his friends, he loved his family, and he loved making music, ideas, and exploring consciousness. Cyrus will continue in the hearts of his Grandparents Don and Hazel Clarke, Uncle Thomas Clarke and Aunt Leslie Butt, Aunt Simone Kearsey, dear cousin Amelia Clarke, Aunt Angel Bryant (BC), Great Aunt Elizabeth Dyke, and a large circle of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Best friends Irwin Davidson, Cameron Pawlett, Gisele Keefe, and Brett Fizzard are among Cy’s chosen family who grieve, along with many others, old and new friends, and collaborators in music, consciousness, and life. Along with the humbling support from our local community, there has been a tremendous outpouring of condolences from musicians and artists that knew Cyrus in Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver, California, New York, Texas, and as far away as Japan. Thank-you to the first responders, to the heroic efforts made at St. Clare’s emergency department and the compassionate palliative care in the ICU. Cyrus was a miracle. He will be remembered as a bright light leaning into darkness and is now restored to light and love. Visitation will be held at Carnell’s on Freshwater Road, Wednesday and Thursday September 11 and 12, 2-4 and 7-9. A Memorial Celebration of Life will be announced for a later date.
