With heavy hearts the family announce the passing of Bill at the Juravinski Hospital on Saturday, August 17, 2019 in his 85th year. Survived by his beloved wife, Jillian Jones (nee Calvert). Loving father of Lisa Nugent (Tim) and the late Mark Jones (2012). Cherished grandfather of Kate, Lauren and Dominick. Dear brother of Barbara Salisbury (Leslie) and Barry Jones (Dianne). Special thanks to Penelope Lyle for her loving care and support. Missed also by extended family in Ireland and England. Bill was a dedicated carpenter at Stelco for 37 years. After retiring he got into photography and computers. He was always busy planning his next project, shopping online and looking for deals. He will especially be remembered for his unique sense of humour and love of family. As per his wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation at STONEHOUSE-WHITCOMB FUNERAL HOME, 11 Mountain Street, GRIMSBY (905-945-2755) on Wednesday, August 21, 2019 from 6-8 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at St. John’s Presbyterian Church, 10 Mountain Street, Grimsby on Thursday, August 22, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. Private family interment will be held in the future at Queen’s Lawn Cemetery. If desired, memorial contributions to McNally House Hospice would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
