Vera’s Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Vera Brown announce her passing on Saturday, August 17th at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital palliative care unit in Corner Brook at the age of 83 years. Leaving to mourn her daughter Kimberly Coombs (Bruce); son Keith (Helen); daughter Sherry (Todd), grandchildren Andrea (Sean), Matthew (Chelsea), Courtney (Colton), Gavin, Christina (Ayden) and Kalib; great grandson Nash; sister Leona (Leslie); sisters in law Helen Robinson, Marion Gale, Doris O’Dell; Angela Hase; Kay Piercey; Gloria Brown (Frank); Linda Locke (Lloyd); Margaret Crawford (Doug); Vera Sampson (Ron) and Carrie Brown; Brothers in law Henry Brown (Karen); Howard Brown (Dorothy) and Roland Park. Also a large circle of nieces, Nephews, relatives and Friends. Lifelong special friends Alice and Gerald Wheeler, Friends from Birchy Lake and Churchill Crescent. She was predeceased by her loving Husband of 58 years George, her parents Selina and George Robinson; sisters Mary and Sylvia; brothers Alex, William Henry, Abby, Carl and Glendon; parents in law Loretta and Arthur Brown; sister in law Millicent, Ivy and Lorraine; brother in law William Brown. Visitation will take place at Country Haven Funeral Home, 167 Country Road on Tuesday August 20th, 2019 from 2-4, 7-9 pm. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday August 21st, 2019 at 2 pm from the Anglican Cathedral of the St. John the Evangelist, Main Street, with the very Reverend Dean Catherine Short officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. John Evangelist Church or to a charity of one’s choice.
