VALERIE LYNN VOLKART
November 19, 1958 – August 1, 2019
Suddenly on August 1, our sister Val passed away. She leaves to mourn her passing her siblings Doug and Jan Volkart, Gord and Lori Volkart, Bruce and Cathy Volkart, and Gail and Andy Bommersbach as well as many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Kirk Haag, her Dad Douglas Volkart (Senior), Step-Mom Winnie Volkart and Mother Doreen Volkart.
Val will be remembered for her generous heart. She would give everything she had to somebody in need and would always be trying to find something to give you – food, cigarettes, and literally the shirt off her back.
She also had a verse that she loved to recite, whether at the doctor’s office or calling and leaving you a message. She had it memorized –
“I’d like to wish you all the best, good health, good daytime sleeps and good nighttime sleeps. God bless you and your family and friends. Thank you. God bless you, thank you, Amen.”
Val it’s our turn to wish you all the best- God bless you, and Rest In Peace.
The family would like to acknowledge River East Access Home Care for taking care of Val, as well as Dr. Basali for his compassionate care.
Val’s cremation has taken place and a private family celebration of Val’s life will be held.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Manitoba Schizophrenia Society, 100 – 4 Fort Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3C 1C4.
