Obituary for
The Reverend Jessie-Jerri June Gresiuk-Jackson
The Reverend Jessie-Jerri June (JJ) Gresiuk-Jackson, of Edmonton, Alberta, made her very peaceful transition on the morning of Monday, August 12th, 2019, at the University of Alberta Hospital with Wanda and Jinny present. She is survived by her sister, Pearl Mathieu (Jean) and their son Layne; her niece, Brenda Dahlseide (Darren) and their children, Jasmine and Rebecca; as well as other relatives, friends and many, many students not only from her years as a school teacher at Buffalo Coulee (near Vermillion), Lavoy, Banff and settling in with the Edmonton Public School Board (where she taught at James Gibbons, Canora, Meadowlark, Inglewood, and Avalon Jr. High); and her three remaining loving cats (Twinkie, Dehlia and Daffodil).
When she left teaching by choice, she entered a 2nd career, that of Ministry. She studied for eight years and became involved in what is now known as Centers for Spiritual Living. In 2001 she became a Reverend and practiced her reverency until her transition. This philosophy equates much with Richard Bach’s Jonathon Livingston Seagull which she practiced all her life. Her constant desire was to help others, and she exhibited a constant search for knowledge.
She comes from a family of 11, being #10. She was predeceased by her parents, Jack and Eva Gresiuk; her loving husband, Reverend Andrew Jackson (2010); two sisters, Ann and Mary,as well as seven brothers, Bill, Paul, Michael, Steve, Jack, Tom and Alex. She loved gardening and cats. She helped find homes for many strays and took care of 16+ herself throughout her lifetime.
Funeral Service Wednesday, August 21 at 10:00 a.m. at Park Memorial Chapel, 9709 – 111 Avenue with viewing one hour prior to service. Interment to follow at Riverside Cemetery in Vegreville, Alberta. In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to CSL Edmonton-Metro or Centers for Spiritual Living in Golden, Colorado.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of The Reverend Jessie-Jerri June
