T Marjorie Bishop Gosse

T. Marjorie Bishop (Gosse)
September 24, 1928 – August 23, 2019

Bishop, T. Marjorie (Gosse) – 90, Halifax. It is with deep sorrow we announce Marjorie’s passing at Oakwood Terrace on August 23, 2019. A loving wife and mother, Marjorie possessed a wonderful smile and a beautiful voice. In her early years, she sang at Trinity Church and the Capital Theatre (Halifax), and was a member of the Dartmouth Choral Group. A stylish dresser, Marjorie was known for her particular love of hats and scarves. Marjorie and her husband Clifford enjoyed square dancing at the Stardusters Club for many years. Her fondest memories were of the cottage on Mack Lake; watching children water-skiing, and visiting with the Crossland family. For many years she worked as Personnel Assistant and Payroll Clerk at the Dartmouth Marine Slips and was later employed with the Department of Transportation. Marjorie is survived by sons, Brian (Atsinak) and Ian (James Durnnian); grandchildren, Andrew, Christopher, and Malaya; Great-grandchild, Michael; and brother, Harold Gosse. Born in Halifax, she was the daughter of the late Israel and Amelia (Facey). She was predeceased by her husband Clifford; sisters, Doris Isnor, Lillian Berringer and (beloved sister) Bertha Thompson; and brother Gordon Gosse. Marjorie’s family are forever grateful for the exceptional care and support given by the staff of Oakwood Terrace. No funeral at family request; interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of your choice.
