Shediac, NB – Rosario Roy, 79, passed away peacefully at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre in Moncton, on Tuesday, August 27, 2019.
Born in St-Luc-de-Bellechasse, QC, he was the son of the late Eugène and the late Adeline Roy (born Lapierre).
Rosario will be sadly missed by his life partner, Thérèse Poirier; by his five sons, Alonzo Poirier (Anita) of Notre-Dame-de-Kent, Albert Poirier (Huberte) of Bouctouche, Edgar Poirier of Cap-Pelé, Zoël Poirier (Annette) of Notre-Dame-de-Kent and Paul Poirier (Janet) of Vancouver; by his five daughters, Marie-Thérèse Bourgeois (Roger) of St-Antoine, Rachelle Poirier (Henry) of St-Antoine, Stella Devarennes (Charles) of Richibouctou-Village, Charlotte Deryaw (late Steven) of Shediac and Charline LeBlanc (Yves) of Memramcook; by his two brothers, Marius Roy (Rose-Anne) and Florient Roy (Gisèle) both of QC; by his nineteen grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; also by his several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by one daughter, Della; by two brothers, Léo and Sylvio; also by three sisters, Georgette, Rita and Laurie-Anne.
Visitation will be held at Passage Funeral Chapel in Shediac Bridge on Friday, August 30, 2019, from 2pm until time of funeral service in the Chapel at 4pm, followed by a reception.
Donation can be made to the CHU Dumont Foundation (Oncology) or to a charity of your choice.
