Obituary of Reginald Stewart Manning
Reginald Stewart Manning, born August 19, 1932 in Ashdale, passed away July 26, 2019 in Dykeland Lodge, Windsor. He was the son of the late Hartford and Winnifred Manning; he was the last remaining member of his immediate family.
Reg spent much of his life driving truck through Canada and the USA. He had a great love for country music, playing guitar, he sang, told many funny stories about his travels. He also had a fondness for horse racing.
Reg will be greatly missed by his many friends and the caring staff of Dykeland Lodge.
Reg is survived by his daughter Fay, Calgary, AB; son Randy, Whitehorse; Darrell, Ellershouse; grandsons Evan, Josh, Joel, Matthew; and great-grandson Drake.
He was predeceased by his brothers Raymond, Gordon and Fred; sisters Alma and Della; companion Elizabeth Hendsbee and companion Anne Sangster; and ex-wife Gayle Manning on June 1, 2019.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, August 7, 2019 at 1:30 pm in the Solarium at Dykeland Lodge, officiated by Light Chaplain Debra Mosher. Reception will follow service and burial will take place in the Riverview Haven Cemetery, 120 Chambers Road, Brooklyn. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr., Coldbrook, NS, B4P 1B9 (902-679-2822).
