Raymond Norman Barber 1939 2019

Obituary of Raymond Norman Barber
Raymond Norman Barber passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 1st in the Pasqua Hospital at the age of 80. Ray was born and raised near Chamberlain and remained to farm in the area for much of his life. He spent his later years in the Imperial area and in Calgary. Ray loved farming, woodworking and sports. Baseball, hockey and curling were favourites for this lifelong sports enthusiast and over the years, he played, watched, and coached. Ray was loving, kind, and intelligent; a hard-working, practical, and sometimes mischievous character embedded in our life stories. He was out-going and community-oriented, generous of spirit and friend to many. He thoroughly enjoyed the fellowship and work of the Chamberlain Elks Lodge, the daily blessing of an active family, and his everyday interactions with friends and neighbours – having people around him made him happy. Ray is predeceased by his wife Beverley (née Tornberg) in 2002, and his parents Ida (née Wilkinson) and Durwin Barber. He is survived by his loving wife Hazel (née Sisco), children Cheryl (Gerry) Yard, Kenneth (Loretta) Urquhart, Darlyn (Warren) Benson, Jeff (Nancy) Barber, and Robert (Kim) Barber, 15 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren. Family and friends will celebrate his life at 11 Kensington Crescent, Regina on Thursday, August 8th at 11:00 a.m.
