It is with great sadness that the family of Philip Ernest Jeffery of Hampton, announce his passing on August 27, 2019 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Toronto on December 3, 1947 he was the only child of the late Raymond Jeffery and Vera (nee Moorcroft) Jeffery.
Phil took pleasure in the simple joys of life: playing cards with family and friends, playing loud music, travelling around the Maritimes in his 1997 BMW Roadster and watching hockey, baseball and NASCAR racing. He was a diehard Maple Leafs and Blue Jays fan. Above all, he enjoyed time spent with his family, both near and far, who will miss him dearly.
In addition to his wife, Andrea (Costello) of 50 years, he is survived by his daughter Vicky Robertson (John), daughter Elizabeth (Beth) Jeffery (Mark Almon), his grandsons Steven Robertson (Shelby Gallant) and Scott Robertson; his great grandson Spencer Robertson, and his feline companion Cleo. He will be also missed by his cousin Bob and sister-in-law Fran, sister-in-law Maureen Costello, sister-in-law Rosemary Young (Doug), brother-in-law Bernie Costello (Beth), niece Colleen Plouffe (Vince) and nephew Eric (Mandie) as well as many cousins in Ontario and London, England.
The family wish to thank all the dedicated doctors, nurses and other staff who took great care of Phil and made his hospital stay more bearable with necessities, smiles and humour.
Arrangements are under the care of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John, (646-2424) where a celebration of life will be celebrated on Friday, August 30, 2019 at 2:30 p.m. followed by a reception.
Due to allergies, please no flowers or scents.
Remembrances in memory of Phil may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
